Our customer needed to cross transfer sheets cut from a continuous web. The material was very susceptible to scuffing and crush. High acceleration to create a gap was not possible. SAI developed a conveyor system that vacuumed transferred the sheets with top vacuum, then dropped the sheets onto an air float table with embedded transfer belts. This allowed the machine direction sheets to overlap the cross machine direction sheets.
